Molching is where the “book thief” is set. But for a matter of fact, Molching is not a real place. Malching is all a lie and just made up for the purpose of the book, but with every good lie comes a trut. Throughout the book, the reader will notice that some of the places throughout the journey of lisel are real and actually located in Germany. For example the place “Munich”. Munich is actually the third largest city in Germany. “The city is located in southeast Germany on the River Isar north of the Bavarian Alps”
